Dr. Ribeiro obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering from the Marine Engineering and Research Institute, Kolkata in 1995. Thereafter, he worked for a few years in the Merchant Navy as a Marine Engineer before going to the United States of America for higher studies. He obtained his Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and Doctor of Philosophy degree in Materials Science and Engineering both from Texas A&M University, USA, in 2003 and 2006 respectively.
Dr. Ribeiro has taught at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, ISB&M School of Technology, Pune and Alliance University, Bangalore in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. He has taught subjects like Engineering Graphics, Theory of Machines, Materials Science, Theory of Machines, Design of Machine Elements, Engineering Tribology and Biomechanics. He has performed research in the areas of development of materials for bone joint repair, prostheses for lower limb amputees, and design of hip joint replacements for the Indian population. He has successfully completed a fellowship at Stanford University, USA, in the year 2009 entitled Stanford-India Biodesign Fellowship. The fellowship involved the designing of medical devices for the Indian population.
